Elizabeth Mary 'Liz' Harris, 71, Sydney, died suddenly on Aug. 30, 2010.
Born in New Brunswick to the late Scott and Iva (Rideout) Seely, Liz moved to Cape Breton in 1965 with her late husband, Jim Harris. After a lengthy career at the Cape Breton Regional Housing Authority, Liz retired from management to pursue the things she loved best. Liz enjoyed gardening, tole painting, the piano, her books, and story-telling, but her greatest joy was sharing time with her husband and best friend, Jim. She also enjoyed and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
Liz is survived by daughters, Kimberly, Karrie, Kathie and Susan and sons, Scott and Stuart and their spouses. Also surviving are her grandchildren, John, Gregory, Geoffrey, Ryan Cameron, Brett, Lauren, Christine, Sophie and Owen. Liz leaves behind her sister, Marion and brothers, Phil, Alvin, Bruce, Lorne and Dale.
Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by grandson, Stephen.
Liz was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service was held.
