PICTOU - Frank Edward Murphy, 59, of Elliott Street, Pictou, passed away suddenly at home on September 1, 2010.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of Lester Murphy, of Pictou, and the late Laura (Belleville) Murphy.
He had worked at the Pictou Shipyard but was a longtime employee of Trenton Works. He was also an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 16, Pictou.
Frank is survived by his son, Ben Murphy, New Glasgow; daughter, Angela (Dan) Burns, and granddaughter, Chloe Burns, Westville; special friend, Barb Richards, Pictou; brothers and sisters: James (Linda), Jane (Gary) Muir, June (Ray) Rankin, Betty (Rick) MacDonald, all of Pictou; Dale (Darlene), Somerset, NS; Margo Murphy (Malcolm Halliday), Stellarton; Laureen (Bob) MacDonald, Ron (Tanya), Lyons Brook; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother he was predeceased by an infant son, Frank; nephews, Jason and Sean.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Monday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Cremation will then take place with burial at a later date in Seaview Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Northumberland Veteran's Unit Comfort Fund.
