BOND, Stanley Edward - 68, of Granton and formerly of Pictou, passed away September 3, 2010 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Stanley F. and Mary J. (MacLean) Bond. Stanley was an avid hobby farmer and loved to give away his harvest every year. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to classic country music. A dedicated blood donor, Stanley was recognized by the Red Cross for over 175 donations.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Ogden); children, Janice Bond, James (Eleanor) Bond, Joanne (Robert) MacCormack, Joyce (Dan) Rankin, Jason Bond; grandchildren, Johnathan, Keith, Kari, Josh, Justin, Kelsey, Dylan, Kylie, Danielle, Brandon, & Jordan; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Carter, & Summer; brothers & sisters, Sandy, Sadie Donnelly, his twin Henry, Angus, Anna May Clarke, Joe, Margie MacKean; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Helen; and brother, Charlie. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou. Burial will be in the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
