William Frederick "Fred" Campbell of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on September 4, 2010 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Vantage, Saskatchewan on February 20, 1924 to Nelson and Lilian Campbell. Fred met and married his beloved wife Evelyn in 1951, and they raised their family in Moose Jaw. Fred was employed for forty years at Cushing Millwork, holding various supervisory positions including superintendent. An avid amateur radio operator for many years, he enjoyed being a member of the local "ham" radio club, where he made many long-time friends. Fred was recognized for twenty years of volunteer service for his contributions to the radio exhibit at the local Western Development Museum. He also contributed his expertise in electronics and woodworking to Zion United Church, running the sound system and helping wherever needed in the church. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby until he was well into his eighties. He will be remembered by his family as a man of great character - kind, loving, honest, generous, gentle, patient, hard-working and dependable. Fred was predeceased by his parents Lilian and Nelson, his wife Evelyn, his brother Ron Campbell, his sister Jean Cropp and her husband Harry, his brother-in-law Earl Purdy, and his grandson Brian Moats. The family wishes to extend warm thanks to the staff of Mulberry Estates and Extendicare, as well as Dr. B. Van Heerden, for their kind and considerate care of Fred. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8, would be appreciated by the family.
