It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kay MacDonald of Glace Bay. Kay passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at her residence.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha (Peterson) LeBlanc, and was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Glace Bay.
Kay took great pride in being a full time wife, mother and grandmother, a job she truly enjoyed. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, she loved to sing and in earlier years enjoyed family camping trips. Kay had a very pleasant disposition and was an extremely friendly person; there isn't anyone we know who could make a new friend quicker than mom. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 52 years, Alfie; daughters, Deborah (Malcolm) Barrett and Katherine, both of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Travis Barrett, Dartmouth, Devin Barrett, Halifax, Ashely Crouch, London Ont.; three nieces; a nephew; and numerous dear friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joe.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glace Bay.
