Date de décès : 7 octobre 2010

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cathy Malarky of Rothesay, loving wife of Jim Malarky, on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Montréal, QC, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Margaret (O'Brien) Dawe.
Prior to her retirement, Cathy was employed with CMHC. She enjoyed craft night with her friends. Her love of all types of music grew from her years as a young piano student. Cate and Jim loved to travel and together shared many adventures. Most of all, Cathy loved her family, especially her precious grandchildren who will always remember their Nana as playful and loving. Cathy will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Besides her husband, Jim, Cate is also survived by two daughters, Susan Maloney (Michael) of Rothesay and Heather Potts (Craig) of Hammonds Plains, NS; one sister, Marilyn Little (Robert) of Châteauguay, QC; one brother, Harry Dawe of Pierrefonds, QC; four grandchildren, Brenna and Shaelyn Maloney, Grace and Callum Potts; special aunts, Clo O'Brien and Marg O'Brien of Cape Broyle, NL; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Robert Dawe and sister-in-law, Dorothy Dawe.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay, on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SJRH-Palliative Care Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online donations and condolences may be made at: www.kennebecasisfh.com
The Malarky family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the Oncology Department and Palliative Care Unit at the SJRH. The excellent care that was provided to Cathy and the support and concern shown towards the family will never be forgotten. Also, a special thank you to The Rev'd Canon Albert Snelgrove for his kindness and guidance.
