1920 - 2010 - The death of Reginald Bedford Snowdon, 90, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Friday, October 8, 2010. Born in Woodpoint, Reg was a son of the late Rupert and Lena (Johnson) Snowdon. After returning from overseas he was employed with the CNR for 31 years retiring in 1977. A Veteran of World War II he served with the RCOC of the Canadian Army in Italy, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He is a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Katherine, and his special friend Mary Wheaton. Reg will be sadly missed by a brother Ray, of Midgic; nine nieces and nephews, Betty Ann Brock, Judy (Bob) Law, Donnie (Lois) McCullum, Robert (Erika) McCullum, Keith (Beverly) Snowdon, Sandra (Gerry) Ross, Sally (Blaine) Bagley, Rupert (Janice) Snowdon and Douglas Snowdon; as well as Mary's children, Jean Ann Beal, Sharon Wood, Sandra Hicks, Linda Wood, David Wheaton, and Wade Wheaton; and a close family friend, Muriel McCullum.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 68 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300), from where visitation will be held 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2010. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 2pm. Pastor Morris Mills officiating. Reg will be laid to rest with his parents at the Sackville Cemetery following the funeral service. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Sackville, will hold a Legion Memorial Service at the funeral home on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 3pm.
