It is with great sadness that the family of the late Riley Hoddinott of River of Ponds announce his passing on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Nina; daughters Rhoda (Warren) Blanchard, McIver's, Edna (Ivan) Payne, River of Ponds, Norma, Corner Brook, Susie (Vincent) McCarthy, Port Saunders, and Kimberley (Basil), Port au Choix; sons Harvey, Warren (Jean), Albert (Marsha) and John, all of River of Ponds; grandchildren Sandra (Vernon), Richard (Lori), Dennis (Deanne), Dallas (Doug), Brittany (Dwane), Brent, Pamela (Ron), Trinda (Wade), Robin (Trina), Kristy (Will), Melony, D.J., Nicholas, and Kayle; great-grandchildren James, Janelle, Gabrielle, Dylan, Devon, Delaney, Andrew, Savannah, Richie and Alliyah; sister-in-law Alice Patey; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sons Dennis and Brent, parents Albert and MaryJane, daughter-in-law Faye, sisters Violet, Ella, Margaret, Estelle, Rhoda and Kathleen. The family received friends at St. Peter's Anglican Church in River of Ponds on Friday and Saturday from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. with Bishop Leonard Whitten officiating, followed by interment at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
