It is with great sadness that we, the family of Gordon Bruce Gear announce his peaceful passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. Most People knew Gordon as a professional engineer working at the mill for over 40 years. For is family he was an exemplary father and grand father whose guidance and love knew no bounds.
Gordon is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Walter and Angelina Gear and beloved sister Doris Mercer. Mourning his passing are all his children, Lorraine (Paul), Stephen, Blair (Heather), and Sharon (Craig); grandchildren, Amanda, Angela, Donald, Troy, Ryan, and Robyn; great-grandchilren, Dylan, Kaylee, and Adrian; sister, Audrey Myrden of Corner Brook. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, October 18, 2010 at 1:30 pm from Memorial United Church, Grand Falls Windsor, NL with Rev. Donna Hann officiating. Visitation will take place Monday, October 18, 2010 at 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
