Ginette McGuire

March 20, 1946 - November 14, 2010 - The light of our world dimmed substantially with the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, friend and angel. Ginette (Caissie) McGuire, born March 20, 1946 passed away on November 14, 2010 following complications from an eight year battle with cancer. Ginette is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph and sons Shawn (Susannah) of Norwich, England and their two daughters Flora and Martha, Trevor of Woodstock, two brothers, Morel (Violette) of Grand Falls, NB and Tony (Diane) of Melfort, SK and sister Velma of Lower Sackville, NS as well as several nieces and nephews. Ginette was predeceased by a younger brother, Raymond in 1959 at the age of 11. Ginette taught for 31 years and enjoyed her holidays and summers with her husband and family golfing, fishing, walking, and running (she ran the New York and Boston marathon) and especially enjoyed travelling to Europe and the US. After her retirement, she spent her winters in Florida with her husband where she enjoyed many crafts. She was a founding member of the East Coast Wood-Carvers Association. She was a gifted painter who at times had the honour to exhibit and commission her work and her many crafts that she learned and taught her friends.
Resting at The Culberson Funeral Home at 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB with visiting on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Gertrude’s Church on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Father John Keoughan officiating. Interment to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Extra Mural Hospital or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the Family.
