Glenn passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 while attending a dance at Timothy Eaton Gardens. Glenn, at the age of 75 was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty (2008) and by his son Dean (1998). Cherished father of Barry (Brenda), grandfather of Blake all of Calgary, AB. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Harvey (Margaret) of Regina, his sisters-in-law Betsy Tiede of Moose Jaw, SK., and Jeannette Tiede of Medicine Hat, AB., his nephews Les Gould (Nancy) of Nanaimo, BC, Doug Gould (Barb) of Calgary, AB., niece Michelle Kiss (Laslo) of Kenosha, WI., and by many other nieces, nephews and friends. Glenn was born on the family farm near Central Butte, SK., but the family moved to Moose Jaw when he was 5 years old and he later attended Peacock Collegiate. He began working for Canada Post as a mailman right after high school in 1954. He married Betty Tiede in 1966 and the couple began their family shortly after. Glenn loved hockey, baseball and football. He was well known in southern Saskatchewan as a referee and umpire, traveling during much of his spare time to help out at a game. He loved to travel in their camper! When the family was young, they traveled all through Canada and the United States. The camping turned to cruising the ocean when Glenn realized his life-long dream to sail the 7 seas. After Betty's passing in 2008, he continued to travel much, but also loved to spend time with his son, daughter-in-law, and his new grandson Blake. He also became more involved at First Baptist Church attending whenever he found himself in Moose Jaw. Friends are invited to an informal Come and Go Tea to greet the family at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK. on Saturday, February 12th, 2011 anytime between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
