Marion Lockhart

Marion Virginia Lockhart of Skiff Lake, NB passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB on Friday, February 18, 2011, at the age of 88. She was born in Andover, NB on May 25, 1922 the daughter of the late George W. and Ola B (Morris) Wright. Marion is survived by her husband J. Gerald (Jerry) Lockhart, Skiff Lake, NB; one son, David A. Lockhart (Sharon) Skiff Lake, NB; one daughter, Lynn Libby (Jack Auld); one sister, Maxine Phinney, Frederciton, NB; one grandson, Christopher Lockhart, Ottawa; one grand daughter, Robin Lockhart (Justin Marks),Hoboken, NJ; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousin's. Marion was also pre deceased by two brothers, Elwood Wright and Carmen Wright; one sister Alice Wright. Marion received her early education in Andover and was a graduate of Acadia University and the Saint John General School of Nursing. Following graduation, Marion worked at the Fredericton General Hospital where she later followed her family to Niagra Falls, Ont. She continued her career as a head nurse at the Welland General Hospital. On their return to Fredericton, she was employed at the Fredericton Medical Clinic and later became a secretary of Pollution Control Service Ltd until her retirement to Skiff Lake, NB. Marion was also an avid gardener and she and her husband operated a Christmas Tree Farm and Nursery at Skiff lake, NB. Marion enjoyed canoeing and other outdoor sports.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Sunday, February 20 from 2pm to 5pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday February 21 at 2 pm from the Saint Marks United Church, Canterbury, NB. Rev. Sandra Cox will be officiating, with interment in the Canterbury Cemetery at a later date. If desired donation's may be made to St. Mark's United Church, Canterbury, NB. www.scottfh.com
