It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and friend. Daniel Wilmot passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John and Genevieve (Confiant) Wilmot.
Daniel was employed for 35 years with Hydro Public Utilities Commission in various locations between Nova Scotia and Ontario.
He will be sadly missed by a son, Michael (Rosanne), Ontario; a daughter, Laura Wilmot, Ontario; cherished grandchildren, Rachael and Paul. Also surviving is Lynda Wilmot and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by brothers, John, William and sisters, Mary and Frances.
Visitation for Daniel Wilmot will be held Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Donations in Daniel’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
