GEOFFREY (ROGER) HILL

GEOFFREY (ROGER) HILL

Date de décès : 1er avril 2011

1946 – 2011
Where is your strength
when I need it to keep me strong.
Where is your love when
I seek it to know that I am loved.
Where is your hand when
I reach for it to bring you to my side.
Where is your guidance to
Help me make the right choice.
Where are you when the pain
in my heart is too unbearable.
You will always be my love.
Marion
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather on April 1, 2011. Roger was predeceased by his father Geoffrey and his mother Joan; his mother-in-law Jacqueline, his father-in-law Ted, and his sister-in-law Valerie. Roger was born March 21, 1946 to Joan and Geoffrey Hill in Walsall, England. Surviving are his wife Marion; son Andrew (Ashley); daughter Courtney (Mike); also by his 5 grandchildren: Madisson, Seth, Abbigail, Conner, and Ella; sister Angie and her family; sisters-in-law Terri and Leesa; brothers-in-law David and Stephen; nieces Krista (Rocco) and children Mason and Karina, Jessica (Joe), Jennifer; nephews Jarred and Addison. Roger came to Canada in 1968 and later moved to Saskatoon in 1970 where he met Marion his wife to be. They were married in 1971 and at the time of his passing, they were one month shy of their 40th Anniversary. Roger received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and his first position was with CP Railways. Roger’s main career came later when he became an instructor at Palliser Campus in Moose Jaw. He influenced many young people and was always supportive of his students. His greatest pride was when he was honored by his students as ”Teacher of the Year”. His passion for soccer, rugby and cricket continued to his last days even after he was unable to play. He was an avid wine maker, always trying new types. At home you would find him trying to identify the birds in the yard. He loved to sit at the bottom of the garden with a glass (or 2) of wine relaxing. We will miss you and you will always be in our thoughts. We would like to acknowledge Chris Bartko for all his help. A Memorial Reception will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the WA Edwards Family Centre (parking across the street at the Saskatoon Funeral Home). Condolences may be emailed to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com Arrangements are entrusted to the SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 244-5577.
