Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on March 24, 2011, Olive Elliott of Raleigh, NL, at the age of 84 years. Olive leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Barry (Gwen); daughters Marjorie (Lloyd), Sheila (Manuel), and Karen (Dave); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Verna (Harry), Reisterstown, MD, USA; sisters-in-law Flora Dean, Hazel Butt, and Myrtle Elliott; brothers-in-law Ernest (Vida), Wilbert (Juanita), Ken (Rita), and Douglas Penney, and a wide range circle of friends and family. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Chesley, mother Agnes, father Henry, sisters Naomi and Marie, brothers Garland and Luke. Visitation was held at the Raleigh United Church. Funeral service followed and took place at 2 p.m. on March 27 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the Raleigh Old United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
