Ronald 'Rannie' Joseph Campbell, 81, of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, son of the late Peter and Laura (Hill) Campbell, passed away peacefully on Monday June 5, 2017, at the Glace Bay Hospital surrounded by family.
Rannie was a man who enjoyed many things in life; with his wife and family at the top of the list. He was proud of being an employee at Cape Breton Dairy for 45 years and loved chatting with his customers. He loved being outdoors gardening, mowing the lawn at the cemetery or just sitting on the deck with mom. He also loved music, dancing, watching the Montreal Canadiens, puzzles and woodworking.
Rannie was extremely loving and proud of his children, Peter (Trina), Karen (Jean Marie), Marie and Patsy (Lenny). He is also survived by his wife and best friend, Carmella (O’Neill); his grandchildren, Jade (Jason), Kyle, Matthew, Danielle (Nathan), Jared and great-grandchildren, Emmerson and Kieran; sister, Renie Bartlett (Jackie – deceased); sister-in-Law, Jessie O’Neill as well as many nieces, nephews and other close friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Ann.
The family will receive friends on Thursday 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church. Interment will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Rannie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
