It is with great sadness that the families of Leeland Patey announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; May nee Ayre of 66 years, his children; Ron (Olive), Tom (Nina), Elvet (Carol), Rosemary (Phillip), and Pam (Mick), his grandchildren; Linda (Edgar) Tom Ayre (Monique), Tom Patey (Tammy), Kim (Yan), Cherrie (David), Megan (Justin), Brad (Mandy), Dustin, Amanda, and Brian, his great-grandchildren; Karla, Courtney, Luke, Ava, TJ, Gracie, Oliva, Evan, Sophie, Christopher, and Christian, his sister; Kathleen Newhook, and brother; Gord Patey. He was predeceased by his parents; Ester and Hibber, sisters; Olive (Elvet), Linda, Hilda, and Edna, brothers; Walter, Don, Roy, and Lionel, mother and father-in-law; Mildred and Forward Ayre, brothers-in-law; George Ayre, and Roy Newhook, and sister-in-law; Ethel Patey, also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended families, and friends. The family received family and friends at the Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Hawkes Bay on Thursday, June 8th, 2017 from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continued on Friday, June 9th, 2017, from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Gillette officiating.
