Germaine BEAULIEU
May 5, 1941 – June 6, 2017
It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Germaine Denise Beaulieu of Prince Albert SK. Mom passed away suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 Germaine was born May 5, 1941 in Wakaw, Sk to the parents of Albert and Blanche (Babineau) Beaulieu. Mom was the second youngest of six siblings that she loved and cared for deeply. Mom began her life on the farm in Bellevue and later the family move to a farm in Nipawin where she attended school at South Hollywood. After leaving high school Germaine moved to Prince Albert where she met and married Rennie Ratti and together had four children. How do you put into words to describe a woman who could touch your soul just by smiling at you?
Mom began her first job after completing high school in Prince Albert at Kresges. Her vibrant and youthful appearance shocked the customers as they would always ask why she wasn't at school that day. It wasn't until some years later that Mom found her true passion. While working at the Holy Family Hospital Mom also opened and operated Porters Care Home for seniors. Mom's love and compassion for people continued as she would spend the next 20 years working at Pineland Home Care as a Home Health Aid until her retirement at 65. Mom loved her job, she spent countless hours giving her heart to people who required Palliative care. Moms caring and empathetic ways brought peace and comfort in their last days. For the last 8 years Mom proudly worked with the OK Tire family smiling and keeping everything just perfectly clean. As a parent Mom raised and inspired four children whom to this day continue her legacy of compassion, commitment and a work ethic second to none.
Moms love affair with nature was truly evident in every flower she planted. Days before her passing, mom was at the Emma Lake Greenhouse and touched every pansy wishing she could bring them all home. It was at her place at the Ambrose trailer park at Emma Lake where mom found her solitude. With a glass of wine, a good book and a roaring fire you could easily tell her heart was at peace. Most people half mom's age would be envious of how physically fit she was. It was only a couple of weeks ago that she clocked 50 kilometres on her little buddy the fit bit in 6 days. Bowling was the highlight of her week, if she didn’t do well, she’d just say “maybe next time” and when she did bowl well, it was the first thing she told us! Mom was very proud of her name “Granny” and her pride and joy was definitely her grandchildren. Always with fresh baking and an open mind and heart did she open her home to everyone. Never did a birthday or Christmas go by she didn’t send a card full of love to everyone she knew. Mom always encouraged everyone to live life to the fullest. Trust and have faith in God and with hard work and common sense you could achieve anything you set your mind to. You were a Mom, Granny, Auntie, Sister, and a friend to many. We love you and will miss you. With every glass of wine, flower that we smell and every fire we find comfort in, we know you are right there with us. May your beautiful heart and soul rest in peace. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
