WOOD, Susan Joyce – 54, Central North River, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at home. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and June (Richardson) O’Donnell. Susan was a volunteer firefighter with North River and District Fire Brigade since 2002. She loved all animals, big and small, and enjoyed listening to country music. She enjoyed watching hockey and cheering on her favourite team, Toronto Maple Leafs.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Terry Lea Wood; son, Keith (Kascie) of Central North River, Truro; grandson Derek; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother Frank O’Donnell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Susan’s family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday with a Firefighter’s Tribute Service Friday evening at 7:00 pm, and where funeral service will take place on Saturday at 3:00 pm. Pastor Sheila Clyke will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations to North River and District Fire Brigade or Colchester SPCA are welcomed.
