It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth D. MacLeod, at the age of 86. Kenny passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck.
Born on April 16, 1931 in Boston MA, he was the son of the late Donald and Catherine MacLeod. Later the same year, the family moved to Plaister Mines, where Kenny was raised with his family and lived out his life in the family home until in recent years he became a resident of Alderwood Rest Home.
Kenny is survived by his nieces, Katherine Mary (Ontario) and Florence (MA); one great niece and great nephew. Besides his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his brothers, Donald, Henry, Harvey, Winston and his twin sister, Margaret ‘Peggy’.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Greenwood United Church in Baddeck with Rev Allison Etter officiating. Burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery on Plaister Mines Road.
Donations can be made in Kenny's memory to The Diabetes Association or to Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck.
Cremation has taken place and services will be under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home.
Kenny was a beloved member of the local community in Baddeck and will be sadly missed.
