DOUCETTE, Lucy Frances – age 103, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, formerly of Lower Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Nakile. Born November 29, 1913 in Surette’s Island, she was a daughter of the late Andre and Hortense Surette. Lucy was a homemaker. She is survived by her sister, Nemerise Noble; niece, Freda Surette; nephew, Jonathan Surette. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Doucette; stepchildren, Christina, William, Gerald, John, Lawrence, and Paul; as well as by a sister, Justine and brothers, Gustave, Arthur, Angus, Edmond, Eugene, Eddie and Hubert. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth, and there was no visitation. A funeral mass was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 27 from Saint Michael’s Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle.
