Brown, Linda Darnell, age 56, of Windsor Hants County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with her family by her side. Linda was born on July 18, 1960 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and was the daughter of the late Alton Irvin and Annie Christina “Tina” (Heinekamp) White. Linda was raised in White Settlement, Hants County and moved to Windsor with her loving husband of thirty years, Gary. Linda found her dream job working for the last ten years as a CCA at the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, where she truly loved caring for the residents and forming special bonds with them. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, and the CWL, Windsor. Linda loved to bowl and she enjoyed being an active member of the Three Mile Plains bowling league. She was passionate about being a part of the bowling family. Linda spent many years caring for children of all walks of life, from foster children to exchange students and many of these became family friends. She had a very loving heart which made her a mom to so many. Surviving are her husband Gary, who was her rock; her children, who were her pride and joys, daughter, Michelle (Scott) Veinot, Sweets Corner; son, Christopher “Chris” (Christine Lyons), Ottawa; her granddaughter, the light of her life, Brooke–Lynn Veinot, Sweets Corner; her loving sister, Debbie (Luc) LeBlance, Ottawa; sister-in-law, Kathy Baxter, Wolfville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Irvin Joseph “Gary” White; infant sister, Irma Joy White. A special thanks to the nursing staff of the Hants Community Hospital, Unit 200 and emergency department; also Unit 8A of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Your care helped her through her illness and we appreciate your compassion. Visitation was held 7-9 Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0. Funeral Mass was 10:30 am, Thursday, July 6, in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 339 King Street, Windsor, Father Craig Cameron officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
