It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Ernest Simon announces his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL, on Friday July 7, 2017 in his 88th year. John leaves behind with fond and loving memories his children: Fenton Simon of Stephenville, Iona (Troy) Simon of Stephenville, and Darrin (Henrietta) Simon of Fort McMurray, grandchildren: Amanda, Nada, Dana, Daniel, Megan, Jonathan, Andrew, Michael, and Ryan, great-grandchildren: Patrick, Christopher, Savannah, Ava, Aden, Alaysa, Hayley, Clare, and Carter, great-great-grandchildren: Autumn, Karen, and Graylyn, sisters: Monica Simon, Lucy Simon, and Agnus Benoit all of Cape St. George, and Amilda Chapell of Texas USA, and 2 special people Hubert and Ursala Hynes (brother and sister-in-law). John has been predeceased by his parents: Adolph and Cecilia Simon of Cape St. George, brothers: Neil Simon of Cape St. George, Ben Simon of Toronto ON, sisters: Bertina Kendall of Piccadilly, and Mary Benoit of Piccadilly. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 7-9 pm, and continuing Monday July 10, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Deer Lake on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:30 am with Father Gabriel officiating and in keeping with John's wishes cremation will follow.
