Roddie, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 11, 2017, at his home in Florida.
Born in Tarbotvale Victoria County, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Archie and Margaret (MacPhee) Carmichael of Ben Eoin.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Roddie is survived by daughters, Dena and Sandra; sons, Keith and Kevin, and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by brothers, Jack (Margie) and Archie, both of Sydney; sisters, Phyllis, Sydney and Carol (Danny MacLellan), East Bay; sisters-in-law, Charlene, Windsor, ON and Charmaine, Sydney, as well as many nieces and nephews who appreciated his wit.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Connie (Fink) Carmichael; brothers, Elmer, Bernie and Roy; sisters, Marie, Florence and Dena; brothers-in-law, William Johnston, Donald Johnston and Ron Youden; sister-in-law, Louise; nephew, Stephen Johnston, and grandson, David Carmichael.
Funeral services will take place in Florida, July 22.
