Blanche Helen (Ingraham) Morrison, wife of the late Paul A. Morrison of Woodstock, NB passed away peacefully on April 13, 2011. Born in Oakfield, Maine on March 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Leda Ingraham. In her early years the family moved to Canada where Blanche graduated from Provincial Normal School and went on to be a teacher in rural New Brunswick. Later in life she taught children with learning disabilities in the Woodstock school system. Blanche is survived by her much loved sons, Michael (Linda) Morrison of Bedford, NS, Daniel Morrison of Fredericton, NB and Timothy (Kathy) Morrison of Fredericton, NB; her two sisters, Faith (Earl) Thomas of Kingston, ON and Mary Kumjian, Savannah, GA, grandchildren Michelle (Stephen) Hill, Hammond Plains, NS, Christopher (Jocelyn) Morrison, Halifax, NS and Kristie (Tim) Culberson, Saint John, NB; her cherished great grandchildren Hannah and Ryan Hill of Hammond Plains, NS, Emily, Amber, Isaac and Owen Culberson of Saint John, NB and several nieces and nephews. Blanche is predeceased by her husband Paul, her parents and brother-in-law Jerry Kumjian. She attended St. Luke’s Anglican Church and a long time member of the Guild.
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Sunday, April 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Woodstock at 10 AM. Interment will be in the Bear Island Cemetery at a later date. Blanche’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, for the outstanding care and attention given to her which enabled her to remain at home.
