We regret to announce the passing of Christena Boutilier, 63, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Cape Breton regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on April 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Olga (MacAulay) Halley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Paulette (Brian) McLean, Alder Point; niece, Barbara Ann (Daniel) and grandniece, Felicity Clarkson; nephew, Aulay (Tracey) and grandniece, Katelyn MacAulay; niece, Stella (Douglas) and grandniece, Jessica (Karl), and her little buddy, Jayden; her cousins and best friends, Mary Charlene and Paul, who she loved very much.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Boutilier; brothers, Daniel Halley Jr., Aulay MacAulay, and John Podetz.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Marion Barclay-MacKay officiating.
