Passed away peacefully on Monday July 17, 2017 at the Dr. LA Miller Centre at the age of 70. Fred was a Vietnam veteran, a teacher, principal, and well-respected business man, just to name a few. Predeceased by parents Frederick and Blanche Hall (nee Reid). Leaving to mourn his partner and soul mate Dinah Andersen; his precious daughter Jillian Mitsuk and his beloved grandchildren Katelyn, Melanie and Leah. Fred is also remembered by his brother Larry (Jan); niece Heather; nephew Patrick (Randy), all in the United States. . Special friends: Buzz and Kathy Zingaro, New York, Ed and Daphne Ricketts, Max Kingden, Michael Fitzsimmons (Virgin Islands), Tony Andersen, Herb Jacques, Gussie and Sterling Saunders, Agnes and Jim Blake, Roy Harnett, Cluney McNeil, Henry Lyall. Colleagues: Max Short, Rex Simmonds, Roland Andrews, Eric Coombs, Judy Guest, the staff at the Innu Nation offices, the staff at PAL, DFO and OCI. Also, the crew of the Atlantic Optimist. Special thanks to the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, the Health Sciences Centre and the VA Hospital in Castle Point, New York. The family wishes to thank Maria Boland and Clyde Reddick for all of the help they did and are continuing to do. It's very much appreciated. Fred continues his legacy of teaching others by donation of his body as a gift to science at Memorial University. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anatomical Gift Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University. As per Fred's wishes, there will be no service. His spirit will always live on.
