Doug passed away with his loving family by his side Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Moose Jaw. Doug is survived by his loving devoted wife of 63 years Sheila; his children Susan (Ron) Macknak, and Robert (Linda); his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Eric (Ashley), Braden, Brooklyn, and Clayton; and his special great granddaughter Elliot; as well as special extended family Douglas, Michael (Lee), Barb (Richard), Brett, Elise and Jennifer. He is predeceased by his parents Les and Liz Root and his siblings Margaret, Phyllis and Lloyd. A Funeral Service will take place Wednesday July 26th at 1:30 PM at W. J. Jones Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Maquire Centre, 100 2nd Ave NE., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
