Amos Wilson of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 25, 2017 at the age of 89. Amos was born and raised in Moose Jaw. In 1950 he married Gwen Thompson and they had three children. Amos was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in 1946. He played with Kansas City, Vancouver, Tacoma and Kamloops before returning home to play with the Moose Jaw Millers and the Moose Jaw Pla-Mors. Amos loved sports which included not only playing but coaching as well. Amos had the TV & Sports Centre for 30 years. Many summers were spent at Buffalo Pound Lake at the cabin. Amos enjoyed being a part of the “Grumpy Old Men” club walking many miles in Wakamow Valley. Amos loved his family and the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Amos is predeceased by his parents Emma and Thomas; two brothers, Roy (Norma) and Lyle and a sister Edith (Duncan). Amos will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years Gwen; daughter Kristin (Michael) Sagal; sons Graham (Deidre) Wilson and Brian (Charlene) Wilson; grandchildren Ryan (Brittany), Andrew, Brandon, Brodie, Keenan (Keirstin), Colby and Morgan; great-grandchildren Louie and Kaysen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service will take place at a later date. For those so wishing memorial donations may be made to Wakamow Valley Authority.
