Rose Catherine Fraser

Rose Catherine Fraser

Date de naissance : 4 août 1934

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mom, Rose (MacNeil) Fraser, at the age of 83. Born in Shenacadie, Nova Scotia on August 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Hector and Rachel (MacLean) MacNeil.
Rose was a truly special person. She was always one to help and care for others in need. She loved bowling, darts, reading, playing cards and sports of all kinds, with basketball and hockey being her favourites to watch.
She cherished her time spent with family and friends. Christmas was a very special time for Rose and she always enjoyed making up stockings for her children and grandchildren. In the eyes of her grandchildren, her house was always the best decorated for the Christmas season.
Rose enjoyed swimming at Shenacadie Beach, picnics with her children and the many summers spent in Grand Narrows.
The kitchen was the heart of her home. She had her children and grandchildren over every week for Sunday dinner. Everyone looked forward to getting together after church and enjoying “the best meal of the week”.
Rose worked for many years at the Sacred Heart Glebe House and was a long-standing member of the CWL. She was a woman of strong faith and instilled this faith in her entire family.
Rose is survived by her children, Allan (Camille Dion), John (Michelle), Albert (Lefty), Carol Ann (Darrell MacDonald), Sandy (the late Carrie McPhee) and Shelly (Dave Fedora). She will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Chris Robertson, Curt (Alison) MacQuarrie, Lee MacQuarrie, Brandon Fedora, Jeff Fedora, Brittany Fedora, Lindsay Fraser, Raechelle Fraser and Andrea Gardner. Rose also had one great granddaughter, Harper MacQuarrie who she unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet, but she did enjoy looking at the many pictures and videos of her. She is also survived by her brothers, Neil MacNeil and John Alex MacNeil. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Albert; brothers, Steven and John Hughie MacNeil, and sisters, Margaret MacNeil and Christina ‘Tina’ Richard.
Her final years were spent at Celtic Court Nursing Home. We wish to thank the entire staff of Celtic Court, as well as the clients and families for their genuine care, love and support of “sweet Rose”.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. Rose will be laid to rest in St. Barra’s Cemetery, Christmas Island.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
