Audrey Grace Sorensen passed away peacefully, and surrounded by her beloved “Boys”, at K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, N.B. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Audrey was born on October 30th, 1931 in Corner Brook, NFLD, the only daughter of the late Asenth (Penny) and John Gullage. Audrey is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Karl, and their sons, Brian (Mary) of Nasonworth, N.B., Gary (LoreAnn) of Grand Falls, N.B., and Kirby (Nancy) of Riverview, N.B.; grandchildren, Marc (Jenna) , Karla Jayne, Tammy, Kerry (Ben), Mary ( Alexander), Troy and Anthony and great-grandchildren, Star, Darrell, Bella, Sally and Kabrayrah-Rose; her sister-in-law, Gladys (Roland) Gullage, her brother-in-law, Jack (Arlene) Sorensen and several nieces and nephews. Audrey is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Roland, Bill and Joseph and nieces, Shirley and Judith. Audrey worked for Thompson and Sutherland of North Sydney, NS, prior to her marriage on September 2, 1958. Audrey embraced family life. The growing family was transferred regularly due to Karl’s career with the Royal Bank. Audrey made each move an adventure making sure her boys were well cared for while maintaining their Newfoundland - Prince Edward Island roots. While living in Campbellton, N.B., Audrey became an active member in The United Church Women’s group. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and cooking; always willing to try a new recipe or pattern. After retirement in Riverview, Audrey sold crafts with her husband Karl. The family would like to express its sincere thanks to the caregivers at the Spencer Nursing Home. It is said that ‘’Angels walk among us.” There is no other way to describe these special individuals who made Audrey/Nannie’s final days so comfortable for her and worry free for her family. Visitation will take place at St Paul’s United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave, Riverview, N.B., on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m., followed immediately by a Service to celebrate and honour Audrey’s life at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Andrew O’Neill officiating. A light reception will follow the service. Interment will take place in the Tryon People’s Cemetery, Tryon, P.E.I. at a later date.
