There is someone who misses you dearly,
And finds the time long since you went,
There is someone who thinks of you always,
And tries to be brave and content.
More and more each day we miss you,
Friends may assume the wound has healed,
But little do they know the sorrow
Lying within our hearts concealed.
Gone is the face we loved so dear,
Silent is the voice we loved to hear.
Too far away for sight or speech,
But not too far for thought to reach.
Although it has been 10 years
Nothing can ever take away
the love our hearts hold dear,
Fond memories linger every day
And remembrance keeps you very near.
If love could build a stairway
And memories a lane
I’d dance right up to heaven
And bring you home again.
