It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mary Euphemia (Feamy) Crane (nee Campbell), 87, of Whitney Pier. She passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the company of family at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born December 6, 1929 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Annie (MacNeil) Campbell.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Agnes Horvath and John and Patricia Horvath; her grandchildren, Carmella Dalton (Gary), James (Kim Hooper), Phemie (David Pelley) and Brad (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Tori and James Horvath, Madison Pelley, Alex Ledue and Dana, and her brothers and sisters, Mary Broley, Lennie, Carmella (John) Moore, Billy (Sharon), Eddy (Pauline), Carol MacKinnon (Kelly MacDonald), Wayne (Shirley) and Jimmy (Sandra). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including, Keith (Suzie), Karen (Darren), Kassey, Anthony, Leeah and Alexander whom, like her grandchildren, affectionately called her Mommom.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Jimmy Horvath, and second husband, Robert (Barney) Crane; companion, Frank Porga; brothers, Mac and Johnny, and also brother, Leo Francis and sister, Jeanette Karen, in infancy; brothers-in-law, Frank MacIntosh, Steve Broley and Douglas MacKinnon, and sisters-in-law, Rosie and Isabelle.
Since the death of her mother in 1984, Feamy was the matriarch of her family whom loved her dearly and will miss her profoundly. She enjoyed spending time with family, going for road trips, fishing, and playing bingo.
The family will receive friends at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 17 at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Burial will be in St. Alphonse Cemetery, Low Point.

A beautiful life that came to an end, she died as she lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.
