Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre after a long courageous battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Brenda Cook and daughter Renee Melanson; sister Pearl Saulnier (Normand) of Ottawa, ON; brothers: William (June) of Quebec City, Quebec, Charles (Kathleen) of Frederickton, NB and Louis of Nova Scotia; aunt Pauline Boudreau of Halifax, NS; sisters-in-law: Debbie Tracey (Gary) and Cathy Cook (Rick Crocker); brother-in-law Bill Cook (Geraldine); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends throughout Canada. Predeceased by his parents Denis and Elizabeth Melanson (nee Theriault) of Nova Scotia; and sister Lucille Little of Woodstock, NB. Special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the many doctors and nurses that cared for him during his illness with special thanks to our family doctor Celine Dawson. Visitation will be at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Friday, September 1st, from 1-9 pm. Memorial service will be from Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, September 2nd, at 11 am. Flowers gladly received or donation in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place.
