Sharon Mae (Green) Lee

Date de décès : 31 août 2017

It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Sharon Mae (Green) Lee of Sydney Forks on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born and raised in Whitney Pier, and very proud of it, Sharon was the Daughter of Allison Green and Mae (Russell) Green and youngest of six children, including four brothers, Willie, Frank, Ivan and George, and a sister, Beverley.
Sharon was Baptized at St. Albans Anglican, but over the years a member of St. Marks and The Church of the Resurrection. She served on the Ladies Guilds and the Parish Council where she was Secretary for ten years.
Sharon was an accomplished business-woman and leader and worked in many positions in the Financial Industry including Investment Manager at Central Trust, Merchandise Manager at the 1987 Canada Games, where Cape Breton reportedly surpassed all previous Games in Merchandise sales.
She moved on into the Automobile Business as Business or Loans and Financing Manager for several organizations in Sydney, Truro and The Valley, and retired from The Royal Bank of Canada where she was loved and revered by staff and customers alike.
Despite her demanding business life she faithfully supported the treatment of her son Craig, institutionalized from age six with a terminal brain disease.
What we will remember about Sharon is her sincere warmth, honesty, compassion for everyone regardless of status, and a radiant smile that lit up the world around her. Sharon had the greatest capacity for unconditional love, generosity of spirit, and Christian virtues I have ever known. The Angels and Seraphims will find her difficult to top!
Sharon is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Zane; daughter, Nicole (Norm) Randell, Orangeville; sons, Paul ‘Anzan’, Ottawa and Zane Jr. (Jill), Regina; brother, Ivan, Sydney, and six grandchildren, including, Tyler (Alicia), Ashley, Kylie, Parker, Avery and Sawyer. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews, including, Bonnie Allan and Wendy Simpson, who were by her side to the end.
She was predeceased by her son, Craig; sister, Beverley, and brothers, William ‘Willie’, Frank and George.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Sydney Memorial Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in The Church of Christ the King Anglican, Reverend Reginald MacDonald officiating with internment at a later date.
Memorials may be made to An Cala Unit, CBRH, The Cape Breton Cancer Center, or to ALS.
Words of comfort may be sent to the family at Sydney Memorial Chapel or by E-mail to sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
