Lantz, Vera Alice, 95, of Windsor, formerly of Newport Station, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Newport Station, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lena (Pemberton) Riley. Vera was a member of the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Three Mile Plains. She enjoyed bingo, yard sales, picking blueberries and mayflowers. Vera also enjoyed family get togethers and on her birthdays she enjoyed Chinese food. Surviving are her daughters, Heather (Bill) Caldwell, Three Mile Plains; Donna (William) Hemphill, Dartmouth; Cheryl; (Bruce) Stewart, Cow Bay; Janet (Nick) MacDonald, Three Mile Plains; Valerie (William) McDougall, Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan; Judy (James) Hurshman, Windsor; Lisa Lantz (Randy), Falmouth; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Marlene Starratt; Mildred Giffin and Eileen (Karl) Saunders all of Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur St. Clair Lantz; daughter, Cindy Lantz; sons, Blaine, Dean and Jeffery “Jeff”; brothers, Ralph, George, Clarence, Harry; sisters, Laura Smith, Jean Crouse, Lillian Lyon, Ella Clark, Lorraine Brownrigg. Vera’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dykeland Lodge “Young Park” for all the loving care they gave her during her four and a half year stay there. Visitation was held 6-8 pm Sunday, September 17, 2017 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Memorial service was 2 pm Monday, September 18, 2017 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Interment was in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
