COPITHORNE, Guelda (née Conliffe) – It is with great sadness, yet peace in our hearts, that we announce the passing of a wonderful Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Guelda Copithorne, with her family by her side at Heartwood Nursing Home, Cornwall on Monday September 18, 2017 at the age of 93 years. Wife of the late Harry Copithorne; mother of Judy Gaylord (Jim) and Joan Rutley (Dan Larose) and her late husband Gary Rutley, and the late Larry Copithorne (Heather). Much loved Nanny to Randy, Troy, Laurie, Tim and Tracy; and Great Nanny of Finley, Cooper, Lance and Liam. Daughter of the late Percy and Ada (née Lagden). Sister of the late Allen and Robert Conliffe. Our family is deeply grateful to all of Guelda’s incredible and compassionate care team: Dr. Mary Jane Randlett, Dr. Garrett Foley, and staff at Heartwood and Chateau Cornwall. They truly helped in making Mom’s final years comfortable and happy. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in Trinity Anglican Church, Cornwall on Monday September 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Committal to follow in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault. A gathering where friends will be received will be held following the funeral service at a location to be announced at the funeral.
