Agatha E. Peacock

Agatha E. Peacock, 94 years of age, of Pugwash, formerly of Amherst, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late John & Clissie (Allen) Peacock.
She was educated in the Amherst school system, as well as taking her business commercial course from Saint Charles. In her earlier years she was a valued and well respected employee in the offices at the Canada Car and Foundry Co. In later years she was involved in the family business "Peacock's Grocery" and retired due to ill health in 1985.
She was a member of Christ Church, Amherst, former sunday school teacher and also taught sunday school at the Highland Baptist Church, Amherst for several years and was also involved in youth groups.
Teddy, as she was known by to most people had a very kind heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She is survived by cousin: Arnold Peacock, Amherst NS; close friends Bill & Diana MacKay & family .
She was predeceased by her only sister; Mrs. Kathaleen Ayer, cousins Keith & Allison Goodwin, Eleanor Snyder.
Her remains rested at Furlong Jones Funeral Home where visitation was held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 12- 2 p.m. where the funeral service followed immediately at 2 p.m. Burial was in the family plot in the Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice.
