Patricia "Pat" Meade

MEADE, Patricia “Pat” Lorraine - It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Meade, age 73 of Greenwood, on October 4th, 2017 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax on December 28th, 1943, she grew up in Portuguese Cove, where at the age of 11 she met the man she would be with for 62 years. She was married to her devoted husband Jerry Meade on July 8th, 1961. She attended Halifax West High School, and from there she began her 30-year career in banking. Throughout those 30 years she worked at branches in Petawawa, Fredericton, Halifax, and Greenwood. While in Petawawa she won the Arm Wrestling Championship in 1978. Patricia lived in Germany for 4 years, while living there she toured many parts of Europe. After retiring from banking, she made sure to stay very active. Walks along the Fales river every day with her husband, along with their dogs Muffin, Max, Keeper, and Buddy throughout their years. An avid and strong golfer, swimming, and was dedicated to the gym 7 days a week. Patricia loved her family, friends, and her dogs more than life itself. A generous, kind, and thoughtful wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her smile was infectious and inviting, she was beautiful inside and out. Would never judge a soul and was always the first to offer help to anyone. Her thoughtfulness went far and beyond what most people could dream of. Extremely proud of her family and friends for everything they accomplished. A pure heart of gold. The love she planted in everyone's heart will grow for an eternity. Patricia absolutely loved telling stories, traveling, dancing, singing, sewing and crafts, enjoyed reading, animals, and loved her special treats. She was pre-deceased by her parents Norbert and Margaret Flemming. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry; sons, Paul (Greenwood); Stephen (Trisha), Halifax; grandchildren, Michael (Katelyn), Halifax; Matthew, Halifax; Zach (Amanda), Halifax; Alexander, Kingston, Ontario; Ben, Halifax; Madison, Halifax; and great grandchildren, Alycia, Jakob, Triston, Izabella Patricia, Denver, Ava, and Chayce.
