Gummow, Jessie Taylor (Anderson), 88, Truro passed away peacefully, October 8, 2017 in The Mira Long Term Care, Truro. Born in Toronto she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Anderson.

Jessie was a long time employee of the Toronto-Dominion Bank and retired after 25 years of service in Toronto and another 10 years in Halifax. Prior to her move to the Mira, Jessie attended the Hilden United Church on a regular basis. She loved gardening and flowers, and time spent with family and friends at community gatherings. She was a long standing member of the Hilden Craft Group. She will be fondly remembered for her generous and feisty spirit, her infectious smile, and kind heart.

She is survived by daughters, Janet (Lee) Emanuel, Hilden and Elizabeth (Bruno Gobeil) Anderson, Quebec; grandchildren, Kelly (Tom) Wilson, Kerri (Geoff) Brown, David (Katy) Emanuel, Nicolas Gobeil, Alexandre (Catherine) Gobeil, Benjamin Gobeil; great grandchildren T.J., Brooklyn, Rowynn, Paige, Logan, Gavin and Mason; several nieces and nephews. Jessie was predeceased by her parents and husband Edward “Ted”; siblings, David, Joseph, Alexander, Isabelle and Elizabeth.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10 am on Thursday, October 12, followed by a memorial service at 10 am both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
