Passed peacefully away with her family by her side, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, on Sunday, October 29, 2017, aged 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell Spurrell and sons Raymond and Clayton, parents Sam and Violet Avery, brothers Everett (Walwyn) and Larry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughters Sylvia (Kevin) and Sheila (Walter) and sons Hayward (Blanche) and Al (Tess), grandchildren Terry (Chantale), Darren (Joann), Rod (Patty Lynn), Suzette (Jason) and Kim (Morgan), great-grandchildren Haylee, Lucas, Jake, Parker, Tripp, Max, Janelle, Tyler, Ethan, and Taylor, sister-in-law Emiline, cousin Eileen and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville. A funeral service took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Clarenville on Friday, November 3, 2017. Interment followed at Sunnyside Anglican Cemetery. In her memory, donations can be made to the Discovery Health Care Foundation.
