The death occurred peacefully with family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, November 6th, 2017 of Mary “Marlene” (nee Gallant) Doucette of Summerside, aged 61 years. Marlene was the daughter of the late Cletus and Mary (nee Arsenault) Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Philip Doucette and loving mother of Jennifer (Christopher) Vriends and Nicholas (Stacey) Doucette. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Alyssa and Brody Vriends and Everly Doucette. Survived by her sisters Linda (Pat) Pickett, Summerside, Diane (George) Andrews, London, ON., Anna Wheatley and Sharon (Raymond) Wiswell all of Dartmouth, NS., her mother in-law Theresa Doucette, Tignish and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her father in-law Henry Doucette. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, November 10th, then to St. John the Baptist, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Marlene’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit Prince County Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
