Leslie Donald COLES
August 6, 1926 – November 9, 2017
Leslie Donald Coles of Prince Albert died peacefully at Pineview Terrace Lodge on November 9, 2017 at the age of 91. Leslie was born on August 6, 1926 in Shellbrook, Sask. to Donald and Frances Coles. He had two sisters Patricia (George Gunn) and Sheila Coles. Les grew up at Foxdale where he also took all his schooling. He married Clara Anderson on November 17, 1951 and became father to three boys. He helped his father on the farm and continued farming the homestead after his Dad's passing. During this time he also did some logging with Art Strube.  Due to health issues, he was advised to quit farming in 1978. He then worked at Shellbrook Farm Equipment for a year, and in 1980 became a Parks Canada employee working as an equipment operator until his retirement in 1991. On August 21, 1984 he married Ruth Anderson and suddenly became father to one more son and four beautiful daughters. Leslie always loved to hunt and fish and it was a dream come true when he was able to retire at White Swan Lake. He and Ruth resided there, enjoying family visits, fishing winter and summer, hunting, and socializing with their many friends for 25 years. Another health scare forced them to move to Prince Albert.  Leslie is survived by his wife Ruth; his children Larry (Darry Ann), Richard (Cathy), Eric (Roxanne), Sharon, Sandy(Clint), Gail (Kerry), Jerry (Sherry) and Tracy (Delano); his grandchildren Mary Jean, Bob, Devon, Mark, Paula, Kayla, Kalin, Tod, Trent, Tyson, Darren, Darryl, Dustin, Daylan, Jarret, Tanner, Kristen, Tyler, Tazz, and Drayton; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; his sisters Pat and Sheila; many nieces and nephews; and his fur baby Missy. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother-in-law George Gunn; his first wife Clara; his granddaughter Heather Coles; his grandsons Rick Chapman and Killian Walcer; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eric and Pearl Anderson; the whole Foxdale ball team (1946-50) which consisted of many of his treasured friends and neighbors; and his faithful 4-legged companion Bouncer. Memorial Service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 133 – 8th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held in Foxdale Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
