It is with sadness that we mourn the passing of our father and grandfather, Luke Clarke, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his loving wife Florence and two sons-in-law Blair and Gerry. Luke leaves to mourn his children Tony (Debbie), Michelle (Dan), John (Wynette), Pamela (Blair, 2004) Charlotte (Paul), Patrick (Kelly), Elizabeth (Gerry, 2010), special nephew Wayne (Janice) and special friend Jessie Squires. Luke will be missed by his many grandchildren whom he loved very much along with all the special people who entered his life. Luke dedicated his life to the military. He served over 30 years across Canada and overseas. After retirement, Luke served for 15 years with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, St. John's Detachment. Warrant Officer Clarke received the Canadian Decoration with clasp for Long Service, Special Service Medal for NATO, Peacekeeping Services Medal, the UN Cyprus Peacekeeping medal, as well as the Commissionaires' Long Service Medal. Luke enjoyed family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. You could always count on time well spent with grandpa during the summer holidays, school events, recitals, pageants and sports events. For many years, our father enjoyed carpentry. His butterflies, flowers and birds will adorn yards across Canada for years to come. We will all remember dad's love for camping and fishing. Family and friends will be reminiscing about his favorite summer spot, St. Malo, Manitoba. Luke will also be remembered for his generosity and time dedicated to many community charities, both military and civilian. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Caul's Chapel.
