Duff, Cora Belle 86, Truro and formerly of Pictou. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom Cora Belle Duff on Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by her family. Born in Moncton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Watson and Sylvia (Andrews) Woodworth.
Mom’s life cannot be written in a few sentences. She meant so much too many. Mom started to work in the newspaper business for the Moncton Times Transcript. After marrying her husband Don, and relocating to Truro, mom was a stay at home mom. She made her return to the love of newspapers at the Truro Daily News and later at the Pictou Advocate. Having a quick wit, a jest for life and a welcoming personality graced her with many friends over her lifetime. Her joys were reading, knitting, playing cards, acrostics, crossword puzzles and telling jokes. She loved to laugh. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her son Greg (Donna) of Santa Cruz ,California; daughter Bonnie (Mike) of Pictou; grandson Jason Duff; brothers Woody (Pat) of Moncton, Hughie (Frances) of Hopewell Hill; sisters Joyce (the late Don Ritchie) of Moncton, Pat (Ed) of Daytona; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Cora was predeceased by her husband Donald Duff; grandson Adam Duff; sister Gloria.
No visitation by Cora’s request. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 14th at 11 am. Lay Minister Alice McLean will officiate with a reception to follow. A private family burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro. Donations in memory may be made to St. James’s Anglican Church, Pictou or to St. John’s Anglican Church, Truro.
