SYLVESTER, Mary Viola (nee Vigneau)
After a long battle with ALS Mary Viola Sylvester, at the age of 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday Nov. 13, 2017. Currently of Brantford Ont., formerly of Sydney N.S. Predeceased by husbands, Paul Vigneau and Romeo Sylvester. She is survived by her 7 children Linda Kitchen-Clark (Gary pre-deceased), Shirley Wambolt (Glenn), Rena Wilcox (Fred), Barry Vigneau(Noreen), Wendy Vigneau (Len Kitchen), Valerie Mitchell(Heather) & Janet Herrington (Tim). She will be dearly missed by brothers, Dave Langlois (Margie), Paul Langlois (Dorothy), Blair Langlois (Cathy), Austin Langlois (Pam), Ronnie Langlois (Colleen pre-deceased) & sisters, Stella Munroe (Elden), Yvonne Richard (Frank predeceased). Feeling the loss are her 5 Step-children, 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 22 nieces/nephews.
She was a life- long member of CWL (Catholic Women’s League) at Holy Redeemer Parish in Sydney, N.S and Sacred Heart Parish in Paris, Ont. She was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed bowling, golf, basketball, baseball and loved her games like Yahtzee & Pokeno. She was passionate about her faith, and devoted to her church family. Her greatest loves in life were her children and spending time with family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St, Sydney. Funeral Service will take place Wed. Nov.22 in the Chant’s Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers contact Chants Funeral Home for info to donate to Dr. Turnbull’s ALS research Clinic.
