Sandy Scott
November 22, 2017
The Scott clan is deeply saddened to announce the death of husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather Sandy Scott on November 22, 2017 at the age of 88.
Douglas Sanford Scott was born March 23, 1929 on Elliot Row in Saint John, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Charles Hildebrand Scott and Mary Marguerite (Howe) Scott.
Sandy was a dock worker, dispatcher, truck driver, salesman, farmer, and business owner throughout his varied career. He began his business life in Saint John working for Irving and then Imperial Oil where he held several positions culminating in his taking on the Atlas agency in Moncton. He then became a farmer and spent many happy years growing luscious tomatoes and cucumbers at C&S Tomato Farm in North River, New Brunswick. Many patrons of the Moncton Farmers Market will remember him from his booth there where he sold his produce and also the Crystal Clear Water he bottled on his farm.
Sandy’s passion was trailering – especially with his family. He particularly enjoyed his trips across Canada and to Florida. His hobby was trading trailers.
Sandy will be missed terribly by his wife of 64 years Joan Cunningham (Dickson) Scott, a resident of the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, his brother Bob (Eva) Scott of Calgary, his children Lynda (Skip Mills) of Sackville, Sandi (Andy Jenkins) of Calgary, Chris of Moncton, and Heather (Laval Moreau) of Saint John. Sandy also leaves 6 grandchildren: Chris (Jennalee) and Kaelee Jenkins, Randy (Mariana) and Bruce Mills, Jessica and Justin Crossman and great granddaughter Brooklyn Mair. Besides his parents Sandy was predeceased by his brother F/O Bruce Scott in 1953.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800), from where a service will be held Saturday at 1pm, Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating with reception to follow. Internment at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. www.keirsteads.ca
