COPP, Dr. Derek T. - Of Grand Bend, age 50, formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 18, 2017, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Meaghan O'Rourke Copp. Cherished father of Duncan, Katrijn and Sebona. Forever loved son of the late Garth Copp (1994) and Joan Milton of Nova Scotia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Darren Copp and Teri Huggins of Kelowna, British Columbia, Suzelle and Tim Moore of Burlington, Kieran and Tara O'Rourke of Oshawa, Eamon and Melissa O'Rourke of Petawawa and Mairead O'Rourke of Grand Bend. Loved son-in-law of Terry and Jean O'Rourke of Grand Bend. Derek will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his passion for family, Derek was an educator. Derek's impact in education reached students in Japan, Europe and Canada, culminating in his doctorate in Governance and Policy Analysis from Maastricht University in The Netherlands.
