We, the family of Ernest Bain Capstick, 81, are saddened to announce his passing following a lengthy illness. Ernie passed away peacefully At Buchanan Memorial Hospital on Saturday November 25, 2017.
Born in Capstick, Victoria County on October 30, 1936 he was the son of the late W.J Duncan and Margaret (MacDonald) Capstick.
Ernie was a devoted member of St. Margaret's Parish. Ernie (Dad) loved visiting his friends and having a great chat. He also loved animals, especially his horses and cats. Anyone who ever drove by saw Ernie in the window giving a big wave.
Left to mourn is The Love of His Life, Marie (MacKinnon) of 45 years; loving daughters, Rose (John) Capstick, Karen (Fred), Heather (Gordon) and Sarah (Avery), all of Neil's Harbour; his 10 grandchildren who he cherished, Leonard, Blaine, Veronica, Kyle, Dillan, Mason, Keith, Karalee, Eva and Leah, and his special great grandchild, Kingston.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Bertha Kanarie; brothers, Duncan (Buddy), Ronald, Dan R., Angus Capstick and Gilbert MacDonald, and son-in-law, Charlie Lillington.
We the Family would love to thank Dr. Murray, Dr. Buffett, Dr. Smith, Dr. Masalmeh and the Palliative Care doctor, Dr. Ritter. A special thanks to all the loving nurses of Buchanan Memorial Hospital who took wonderful care of our Dad, Wanda Barron the Palliative Care Nurse, also the staff in cooking and cleaning department
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. in St. Margaret's Church, St. Margaret's Village, and from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating his life at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lazarus Guria officiating. Burial will take place in the parish Cemetery.
