James Hiscott

James Hiscott

Date de décès : 25 novembre 2017

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Jimmy Hiscott on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a devastating battle with Cancer.
Jimmy passed away at home surrounded by family and friends, just as he lived his life.
Born in North Sydney December 27, 1944 he was the son of the late James and Madeline (Caines) Hiscott.
Jimmy was a musician extraordinaire! At the age of 17, he was instrumental in starting up the ever loved “Rocking Saints”, a band that spanned his lifetime bringing great entertainment and fun to thousands over the years. To the delight of many, after a bit of a hiatus, the band was rekindled back in 2000. Doing something he loved so much brought him great joy.
Jimmy dedicated 50 years of his life to the construction industry, working right up to the day of his diagnosis. He was a talented leader in the field and made many of great friends over the years who stood by his side until the end. It meant a lot to him!
Jimmy lived his life to the fullest; he was an avid skier, enjoyed sailing, watching lively local hockey, playing his keyboard or riding the open roads on his motorcycle. His greatest of all pleasures was his family time spent on their Bras d’Or Lake property. He was an enthusiastic family man who planned most of our outings, he was our problem solver. It didn’t matter if it was camping, boating, getting the Christmas tree, washer toss or fixing our car “Dad was our go to man” we are going to miss him beyond measure!
Leaving to mourn with loving memories is his wife, Glenda; his children, Kristopher (Amber), Kelly (Kevin), Aaron Crouse (Steve), Virginia Chapman Carey (John); grandchildren, Eva Hiscott, Brianna, Gabrielle and Emily Crouse and Amanda, Alyssa and Sean Carey; sister, Marie MacEachern (Rhiney); brothers, Peter and Clifford Hiscott; mother-in-law, Shirley MacLean (Blowers); sister-in-law, Donna Bonnar (Milton); brothers-in-law, George and Brian Bona (Francine); special niece and nephew, Kyle and Katie Bonnar who were like his own, and Jimmy’s wide circle of friends.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his son, Danny; brother, Gordon, and father-in-law, Joseph Bona.
We would like to thank Dr. John Kirkpatrick, Dr. Phill, Dr. Archibald, Dr. Abboud, Palliative Care Nurse Michelle Finney, VON of Cape Breton and staff of 4D Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Father Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center or Palliative Care of Cape Breton.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
Online condolences may be sent to www.wjdooley.com.
“EVERGREEN WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.”
